Pastor Eleanora Coaxum Ellington
A native of the Low country, the Reverend Eleanora Coaxum Ellington serves as an ordained Elder in the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She received a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. Currently, she serves as the Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, John’s Island. In 2014, Reverend Ellington was appointed to serve The Anderson Circuit (Emmanuel, Mt. Pleasant, and Mt. Sinai United Methodist Churches) in Anderson, SC.
As a professional educator, Pastor Ellington believes that spiritual empowerment comes through scriptural teachings and the understanding of God’s will for our lives. She has a Master of Education from The Citadel and completed her undergraduate work at The College of Charleston.
As a Christian, she believes that God meets everyone at their level of need and understanding. Pastor Ellington’s desire is to continue growing in God’s grace and to live a life of love to God and to her neighbors; seeing the world through the love of Christ. She is the wife of Wilbern Ellington and the mother of two adult children: Tabitha and Alex.
