Meet the Pastor...
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is with deep gratitude and great joy that I greet you as your Senior Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church (Johns Island). For the past five years, it has been my distinct honor and privilege to serve this wonderful congregation. I give God thanks for the love, support, and faithfulness you have shown as we have journeyed together in ministry.
During these years, we have witnessed the hand of God moving in remarkable ways. We have experienced growth not only in numbers, but also in our spiritual walk, our ministries, and our commitment to making disciples for Jesus Christ. As our congregation continues to grow physically and spiritually, I remain humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside
such dedicated leaders and faithful members.
I am a native of Walterboro, South Carolina, and a graduate of Walterboro High School, Claflin University, Erskine Theological Seminary, and the Technical College of the Lowcountry. I am the proud mother of three children and the blessed grandmother of ten wonderful grandchildren.
As we continue this journey together, I encourage each of you to remember that when we pray, God hears more than we say, answers more than we ask, and gives more than we can ever imagine. God accomplishes all things according to God's perfect timing and in God's own way.
My prayer is that we will continue to seek God's will, work together in unity, and faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I look forward with great anticipation to what God has in store for Wesley United Methodist Church and for each of our families.
Always keep God first, and all else will fall into place. Never forget that I love you, and there is nothing you can do about it.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Yours sincerely,
Rev. Doris R. Bright, M.Div.
Senior Pastor
